I recently picked up a 2006 Spec V at a great price and it needs a few things.

I definitely need a 6-CD Changer. My head unit has a CD-C button, so I am assuming the factory changer should wire right in??

Factory all-season floor mats definitely. (Car has NO mats!)

I would like to mod it a bit and am looking for a cold air intake, axle back muffler, a header, and potentially a billet grill or other.

Thoughts? I am on a limited budget due to financial climate but would like to begin. Used (good quality parts) are welcome.

Thanks:

Ed

First performance parts of all you should get is a header. If you don't know why, search for pre-cat failure, you'll understand. For a good header of good quality at low price, search for one made by OBX on Ebay. You can have theses in 4-1 or 4-2-1. You can always search for used parts, there some catback which are in stainless.

I'd stay away from an axle-back. There's no performance gain, so with a header you'll just be choking it off in the middle. On top of that, axle-back systems almost always have that buzzy bee sound to them.

CD changer should pop right in, yes.

I love my all-season mats, so I have to agree with that one.

Welcome to NICO!

I like changing people's posts when they shamelessly whore another website.

heh. there are other Spec V sites however Nico is a great place for info as well. There are several current and former spec owners that will chime in with info.

Axel back exhausts are a waste of money, invest in a catback. you will be glad you did.

Any input on the CD-Changer question? I would like to get a changer for this car but not sure if it will drop right in and the wiring is available at the stock radio (that has a CD-C button).

Thanks: e3

Not considering going the aftermarket route? Stock radios never do it for me.
