Yes it is a factory Y-pipe. The service guy at the dealership said someone must have hit something and scraped the y pipe and messed it up. Is the y pipe where the exhaust begins to flow into 2 pipes?audtatious wrote:Why don't they just hold these inspections in the AutoZone parking lot? sheesh.
Is that a factory Y-pipe?
I bought my car for $24,800 and it has 23.5K miles. It comes with a 5 year 80k mile warranty along with the remaining factory warranty.buhdda wrote:Damn...i just bought a 2003 m45 this week as well. I didnt even think about possible trouble with state inspection.
and $320 for tires? are they special or something?
ALso if u dont mind my asking how much u pay for yours? Just curious for comparison to see whether or not my deal was good.
Good idea to get Michelin, yes, but there are a few other good ones too.HolySh*t wrote:I did not have any special tires on there. I have the OEM Michellin tires. I will buy another Michellin tire but not from them. I don't mess around when it comes to tires.
That's what I actually have decided to do. I set up an appointment for Saturday morning.audtatious wrote:You can't take it to a muffler shop and have it fixed?
Unfortunately, I didnt even think to do that. We don't have to go to the dealership to get it inspected but I wanted to go there because I dont think anyone would know the car better than a dealer. But now that I know nothing is really wrong with it I will take it somewhere else so it can pass.audtatious wrote:Did you get a receipt from the muffler shop stating that is was fine and not leaking?
In MD they make you go to dealerships for testing? No wonder they stated you needed new wiper blades and such. What BS.
