Hello,

My I30T seems to bog when accelerating especially when Im between 3K-4K RPM.It also happens when I am cruising a certain speed and all of a sudden I will floor it. The car seems to bog or be sluggish and "slowly creeps" to higher speeds. Then when the car redlines, I feel a big jerk and the gear changes.

Other than that, the car runs fine. Sometimes if I accelerate from the stop light, the car seems to be sluggish as well.

Anyone know what can be wrong?

Thanks,

Omar

Thanks so much.

That helped me out alot. Now, I called Infiniti of Lisle in Illinois, Gerald Nissan in Illinois and Courtesy Nissan in Texas to get the part numbers.

Heres what I got:

Infiniti: 226802Y001 (for 2000 I30T) $125

Gerald Nissan: 226802Y001 (for 2000 Maxima SE) - $134

Courtesy Nissan: http://www.courtesyparts.com/M...VQ30D(for 2000 Maxima SE) - $90 1. Can I buy it from Courtesy Nissan and use that. Or just go with the Infiniti one?

2. Do I need to get the ECU reprogrammed?

Thanks,

Omar

According to NISTECH's post a reprogram was necessary, in addition to the new MAF, to correct the problem. You may want to call the Infiniti service department and make sure that this TSB applies to your vehicle. Only problem is that he doesn't list the TSB #. Here is a link to all of the TSB's for your car. http://www.alldata.com/TSB/27/00270706.htmlI will see if he can let us know the TSB#.

Omar: I have this linked in the online mechanic forum, so please bare with me. Turns out I can not find a TSB for the I30 that relates to the one for the Maxima. I have called in the big guns.

Your car wont have the code. When you buy the air flow meter [which you can buy from courtesy it is the same part] There will be a paper note in the box with it that states you need to have the ecm reprogramed for that AFM. Do not install it untill they are ready to program it. It is not advised to start the car with that airflow installed with out the new program installed in the ECM.
