Probably not a timing issue, nor related to the oil change. I have seen a bad intermittent connection after changing the battery that caused really weird things, including stalling at idle. Poor connections are really bad cause they can fry the insulation and wire. Feel the battery connections to make sure they're not really hot. Could also be a sign the alt's on it's last legs, but probably not if the car turns over easily. I don't think a tune-up would help (change the filters and plugs?). It could very well be the idle air control as Keith suggested (HI KEITH!). Not too familiar with the Gs, but most cars have a set screw on the idle air control valve that you can undo a bit to let more air in. If it's completely clogged up this won't help though. You can also see if a vacuum leak keeps the idle up--unplug the brake booster hose with the car in park, then see if it'll fire up and idle on it's own. It should idle pretty high. None of these will diagnose a failing fuel pump--best to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to check that.
