Hello Everyone I have never posted before on this forum, but since I didn't know about it, and I just got my CA18det silvia clip (see the "Venus trip! thread - I'm the guy that owns the Jeep) I decided now would be a good time to start!:blue I had changed out my SOHC engine once before but I expect to encounter unseen problems or unknown information while doing this swap. Any suggestions, information, ideas or help that anyone can offer would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

All I can say from talking to everyone is: it'll take longer than 3 days

just do all the work you want done to your motor while its outa the car, makes things alot easier..... clutch,TB,hoses,etc.... its pretty basic once you start doing it.....keep track of your bolts as well!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's swapping it totally stock....as stock can be...stock clutch and all...Well, we'll see how the 40k mile clutch is in a little bit...just gotta let it cool down here before going back out there to work on it... it's 106 degrees out right now

I *could* do it in 3 days if I had to do it again. ;)

I should just fly Joe down here and have him show me some '3 day' swapping skills...Update: Mikie is gonna try to use his SOHC lines with his clip's lines and hardware to make p/s work w/o buying new lines. New lines cost money!! *outrage*The CA is still chillin' in it's clip...

ca is OUT! He's gonna work the p/s lines...bang out the oil pan, etc...

After a little sleep, we're gonna take the transmission off and see what condition the stock clutch is in. If it looks ok, he's gonna use it for a while. I don't think he wants to check if the turbo is good or not...just gonna have faith lol

He's also gonna try to ghetto the stock CA downpipe with an aftermarket 3" exhaust...we'll see how that works out...

We might have to leave the wiring for another weekend

Mikie, where did you get your CA from? I checked jspecautosports and all those disclaimers kinna worried me. I'm trying to find a place where I can buy the motor, transmission,ECU, and wiring harness ( Not enough dough or interest for a front clip ) and know I wont be getting screwed. My SOHC went out tonight so I figure what better time for it.

Mikie and I got our CAs from http://www.venus-auto.com . I know they can get motor sets on demand (in other words: no wait) and shipping is a lot cheaper than with a clip. If disclaimers worry you, then maybe a japanese junkyard engine is not for you. Think about it.

Btw, s12 200sx clutch is in. Exact same clutch as the one that was in there lol
