Put in about 120 miles today snow covered roads in PA & MD. We rec'd about 5" of snow here. I-81 just North of the MD line was a mess this morning than onto the PA turnpike. Took a rural route home, which meant 20 miles of untouched roads but no traffic. Than back onto truck-congested I-81. The Altima did great, those stock Continentals are pretty decent, certainly as good as the Kuhmo's on my Accord. The auto-stick or whatever Nissan calls it was a bonus on the hilly curvy rural roads, that was a surprise. I have a set of cable-chains in the spare tire cavity for any surprises I might encounter. Never had to put them on my Accord, hoping to keep that streak alive with the Altima.
I ran four snow tires on steel wheels with our '96 Impala SS. That car was an animal in snow with some weight in the trunk and the snow treads. Since buying the 4WD Silverado, that car no longer even gets wet. I did have fun this evening doing donuts with the truck and scaring the wife. Still puts a grin on my face. Here's a shot of the Impala and snow gear. I don't miss dragging those four, 17" tires out of the basement.

Drving from Denver up to the mountains to go boarding and we got caught in the first snowstorm of the year ('97). My car was going all over the place and when braking, the brakes would lock up and I'd slide. Glad I don't have to deal with that where I live, we just get a ton of rain.
