Why don't you do a NICO raffle? $10.00 per ticket. Sell 800 tickets. Pay yourself the retail value of the car, and donate the rest to a charity.

Okay, how many at $50 a ticket?

If you set a max tix sold to 150 or so, I think you could sell that many in a couple weeks??

Would it be legal?

One heck of an interesting idea!! :D

I have to admit I do not know how legal this is, but it is a fun enough concept that I am going to do some research on what is allowed in California!

By the way, this is something I have seen before. If you ever happen to be in the Dubai International Airport, check out their raffles on some interesting cars. Only a thousand tickets are sold, generally between 120 to 130 dollars each. The winner collects a high-end car - in the past, it has been Porsche 911 AWD, MB SL500, etc., etc., etc. There are always two car raffles going on and they will deliver to anywhere in the world!

Count me in for a ticket!

Someone should start a poll in all the forums.....and get a count of people. That way we could figure out what a realistic amount each ticket would have to be sold for.

I'd be good for $40 or $50 worth of tickets regardless of the ticket price.

80 tickets fo $100 or 200 tickets of $50.

This could be kinda fun if we get enough participation.

Fred,

If you start a poll (that all forums could see) asking for a roll call of who is interested, we could see if this is a possibility or not.

I was searching eBay, and started drooling on this sweet 1995 Q45 for sale.

I looked at about half the pictures, then realized it was yours.

By far the best looking one on eBay.

I found someone strongly interesting in buying a pair of 94-95 Qs, and pointed him to your auction. If it doesnt sell (I doubt it) he'll be able to buy it in a month or so.

I am still looking into the legality of it (the raffle). The "wunnerful" state of California has some strange laws on its books, and the California Franchise Tax Board is never to be sneezed at - all their employees were trained by escapees from the Gestapo. Will keep you all posted about this possibility ...

German ( but born in US)

It never ceases to amuse me when I hear US media talk of a Austrian Accent, because there is no such thing.:D

Austrians speak German and as such they have german accents. As a matter of fact the current form of standard German so - called high German came out of Vienna and Prague.

I am glad Arnold is around; it's because of him that chicks dig German accents in guys; Before him it was mostly the "bad" guys in movies speaking with our accents, while they were wearing leather coats and drivign black Mercedes'.

Fred...:D

PS: On Prague and german austrians a bit more serious note to educate members in things not tought in hi-school history class:

At the time when it was a trend setter towards current high german speech, Prague was a nearly all german city in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but is not anymore German populated, due to a public Czech murder/rape/torture orgies between 1945-1950 resulting in the complete disappearcane of the original population of Prague.Even the russians couldnt stand watching the public burnings-alive of entire families, or tire-iron-beating-orgies-until-the-death of entire familes, raping 9 year old girls while their mothers watched which were often shot if they dared to beg the Czechs to rape them instead. The russians were even a source of safety then and helped limit some atrocoties, Something I will always be thankful for to the Russian people.

Some Polish minority also saved some german kids claiming them as they own, while thile they parents were having their limbs smashed with hammers in the town square to the laughter of the "free Czech" partisans trained and staioned in London during the war.

As a result Prague (like many so-called "Czech" cities) is now no longer Prague, but just the corpse of Prague, populated by its murderers.I am sure the soul of the city shudders with disgust, as it feels its Czech murderers, walking in it ,bragging about the beauty of "their" city to tourists, as they walk on the dried blood of the people who built that city.

Sometimes I wonder if the main reason of all those "closed" British files about WWII that are sealed, isnt about this?

Since Benes the exiled "leader" of the "Free Czech " Briagdes which formed the nucleous of thees crimes, was a personal friend of Churchill, some involvement or at least knowing tolerance of these atrocoties, by the british government at the time, is a virtual certainty in my opinion.
