Ok, here's the scenario. The electronic radiator fan stopped working, so I got out the volt meter to see if power was coming into the fan. No power to the fan, so I checked for bad fuses - fuses ok, but no power coming into the fuse terminals, so I got the bright idea of doing a bypass directly from the fan to a fuse source (the fan works with direst power). This is where the problem started. Like a dumb sh-- I connected one direct fan bypass wire to the battery and touched the other wire to the ASCD Hold terminal and the car sputtered, stopped and she won't start now. I dont hear the fuel pump come on and I checked the fuse in the fuse box and it's ok. Any ideas guy's (and gal's). Thanks, Ken

The fan are not suppose to be on all the time, only when the AC is on and/or the temp is getting high, so it was normal before you mess with it. The problem you have now is likely from a blew one other fuse or more, check every one of them, fuel pump, ECU......it could be anything. Good luck.

Yep, I checked the inside fuses shortly after I posted my message and found that I blew an Oxygen Sensor fuse - car runs again, but the fan doesn't come on even when the air is on and the car still heats up as well - I'll go get another diagnosis on it. The repair shop installed new cats after apparently eliminating other possible causes such as, thermostat, radiator, head gaskets and fuel injectors. The only thing I can think of is that the steering control module casing is red hot and the car looses power when it heats up - fortunately, unplugged the wires are not hot, so maybe a replacesment might do the job. If anyone has a line on a steering control module part #2850010y10 (used) then let me know. Thanks for the reply.
