Hi i have my 1991 2+2 nissan 300zx and i got this car for 1700 with no body damage or paint issues (clean)
Had a messed up coolant hose (fixed)
Wheels got broken studs (fixed)

But now my oil pressure is low and my uncle who is a mechanic is saying im possibly going to need a new oil pump in my car (asap(
And my power steering pump is shot but from friends that own these cars have told me its not an issue.

Can i get the oil pump done myself?

Both the gauge and sending unit are notorious for reading incorrectly. The only way to really verify good operation is to hook up a mechanical gauge at the oil filter and take readings from there. Also, these cars run lower oil pressure than most are used to. Spec is >11psi @ idle, and 51-65psi @ 3000 RPM. Most mechanics would call that low when they're used to US spec cars. Also, if the oil pan is dented, it can stop up the pickup tube and cause it not to draw enough oil. Very common with JDM engines that get shipped over on a pallet sitting on the oil pan or on a lowered car.
