My 1985 300ZX overheats

I purchased this 1985 300ZX (non-turbo) about a year ago. It ran fine up until recently it overheated on me-- twice. I changed out the thermostat and the water pump, but this did not remedy my situation. Does anyone have a clue?

did you bleed the system after refilling the coolant? if you have air bubbles in the coolant system it will cause the car to overheat. if thats not the problem i would probably check out the radiator if its stock. theres not going to be many pristine parts in a 21 year old cooling system
