This is my 1984 Datsun Sakura Hardtop S110(A.K.A Silvia or 180SX). It has the Rare J18 1790cc engine, dual barrel hitachi carb, A/C. 5Speed manual. Since the first time I glance on it, I fell in love with it and decided to buy it and It turns on like a new car, plus it rides really smooth. Here are some pictures enjoy

Nice!

I don't know how long it has been since I have seen a US-Spec version on the streets. We did have one at our Nashville event last year....

Nice Datsun.

Interesting name, "Sakura". I know it, as you already said, as "Datsun Sylvia". Also the "Nissan 200SX"

What is the plan, looks very nice.

Thanks. Well there ain't much parts for this car, specially the engine(J18) but I was thinking to put a better suspension system and maybe try to see what could be compatible with the J18 engine. But they aren't a lot of info about this type of car (S110). So will see what I can find in the future.

Typical boxy japanese styling. The Volkswagen Santana had a J20 engine, (a Nissan in a VW), with 140 hp. Maybe a camshaft, (or engine swap), is possible.

The japanese "J" series is similar to the British "B" series engines found in "MGB" cars. Very popular in UK and all over the world. The J series was developed under permission from MG by Datsun, and the J series is a better product that the british "B". Albeit , there are performance parts like headers, carburetor kits, cross flow heads and more that would work perfectly on the almost identical ( yet better ) J series.

Check site for MGB cars with the "B" series engines.

As for suspension, there is a lot you can do, the 200SX suspension will work.

Here a project 200SX car you can check out:

WOW thanks There is a lot of info about the S110 and I found a link in the link you send me, on how you could adapt S13 Coilovers to the 200SX (SAKURA), now that is something that I could work with. Now as of the engine seems I can't find any stuff or parts for it But I'm going to keep searching and hope to find something.

WOW, it's mint.

If I were local, I'd be calling you left and right trying to buy it from you.

Needs Watanabes and a big front lip, but otherwise 100% perfect.

ema wrote:Man that is one simple yet eye-catcher car. I've done some searching about it and I found out that the Sakura(as sold in Mexico) in the 80s was the first ever altered version of Nissan Sylvia. It was intended to have a rotary engine although that plan had many irreconcilable drawbacks that had led to the innovation of the plan.

Well, good luck to you and your car. i hope and I'm sure that you're taking care of it.______________________ grab those nissan parts before they got off.

Yea I found out too that it was intended for rotary engine too. Thanks of all.

Yea I been keeping it really clean, I get a lot of looks over in Mexico on how clean I have it. Maybe put some fender mirrors and lower it a little bit. Those are my plans for now. There is a guide that tells on how you could modified it, but is in Japanese, stupid translators don't help a lot, but I will keep researching.
