hey nice 180sx. i am actually really good friends with christian and dom from importconcern and have seen many car's come and go. and i must say that this one is nice.

as for a out of province almost anyone will do it. But 99% of the time these cars will fail for brakes. you will hear rumors about the brake pads matching up with early maximas but its a pain o find the right ones. Just swap the 240sx calipers over. anyways they are bigger and better than the 180sx ones.

awsome cars to both of you. ANd as most of you know, ca18 powered cars are starting to become RARE due to the exportation of them. You used to be able to pick through 5-10 per a day, now its 5ish a week in the auctions. And on yahoo and private sales they are just as rare for a decent car.

Keep the ca18 love cause i know over in alberta everyone is changing over to sr20.

Hey man,

I spoke with Christian, and he was a very helpful and nice guy. I wish I could have gone through them.

As to the brakes, only certain Silvia's have brakes that aren't matched over here. All of the 180SXs I've seen share the brakes with the Altima. The Silvias are the same size but the tabs on the brake pads are inverted.

AXLEYeah i see the under-spoiler rust on mine, the corners still look good though. Do you think it would be more cost effective to get a new hatch or to remove the spoiler and rust and then weld/fill/paint?

I have just found it easier to swap over to a 240sx brake or a 300zx coversion, most of the people i know do that or they order pads off yahoo japan and bring them over with them in car (lol not just pads).

But i still think import concern is the best company to go through, 90% of the companies only sell cars from the yahoo private sales which you don't know what your getting, when with the auctions they will tell you exactly what is wrong with the car. There is another company (worldcarlink) that is great. its run out of lethbridge alberta and the owner is a member here on nico (mostly posts in the vert section) and he custom makes the cars how you want them since he works in japan. also brings over some hard to get parts as well

It all depends on how you get it done. On my old hatch I had it filled and plated, and I also shaved the third light, and it looked very good. But for this car I am getting a whole new hatch just because I'd rather not have bodywork on it.

That's okay, just let me know what model and I can probably give you an answer (they're not for me, but for a friend)

you bought a new hatch, as in from the nissan dealer. How much does that run you?

You said you ordered it in Feb and just got it in Sept. Ouch, that must have been torture!I thought it was hard waiting from when i bought it in late July to now. I just got an email that it has cleared customs and they are putting it on the train in the next couple days, it will be here by the end of the month. WOOOT WOOOT!

I didn't get mine from a dealer, just a used one I'm going to get repainted. From the dealer they are not all that expensive, but they don't come with any glass or trim or anything, so it's at least twice as much to get it on the car - not very worth it.

Yeah, I don't know what happened with shipping, but I chose to wait for ro-ro, because I didn't want to chance the damage by container. Apparently there was just no spaces and J-Spec didn't know how to push hard enough (I was the only customer left waiting for ro-ro).

The trains run every Friday. If it's not too late (and it isn't at this point unless you've paid) don't use SeaRail. I used J. Simons Securities but I am not sure if they go down east. SeaRail is expensive and notorious for damaging cars and not covering the cost of repair.
