Finished up finals today! :dblthumb: Decided to celebrate by finally taking some pics of my Pathy. As the subject reads, she's an 02 SE with 97k miles on her. Have a lot of plans and hope to get some stuff done over Christmas break!

The only mod I have done is a Sony Xplod system. Headunit, 800w amp, and 1000w 12" sub. My question though is.... I have the single box placed where I like it and the amp mounted on the seat behind it. Do you guys have any clever ideas how I could SECURE the sub housing real nice and still be able to remove it easily for extra storage? (when needed)

Here are some pics to give an idea how it sits and where. You can see how the amp sits behind the box in the first picture.
Thanks!

is the alternator handling it ok power wise?
I plan on putting 2x12s infinitis boxed sometime when I start hacksawing the batt terminals...and add a 1/2 din crossover

on a pathy 01 se

but might just fix up the exhaust first...

I really don't know how to tell how the alternator is handling the sub. But I haven't really noticed any problems. The battery it self is pretty old and in crummy shape. (changing it soon) Sorry I can't give a more informative answer. Good luck with the 12's. Infiniti's are awesome!

Thanks for the comments too!

Anyone have any ideas how I can secure the sub box? Just want to be able to secure it and still have the ability to remove it when I need extra storage.

You could easily make an L bracket and hold that down.

In your pic you can see right at the front corner there is that flap of carpet with the anchor symbol.

You can flip that carpet up and there will be a M10 bolt there (I think M10), you could easily make a nice sturdy L bracket off of that bolt hole and screw it to your box.

When you wanna remove it all you need it to take that bolt out.

i have my amps mounted on the same section of seat as you.

i use bungee cords for the sub box. ignore the booze, you can see the bungee cords in the background, in an X pattern. I use the 4 factory hooks built into the floor. Not the prettiest but very functional. Does a great job, easily removable, and it also helps secure my box of tools and misc stuff on the sides of the sub box.

You can do crazy offroading and everything stays in place.

I wish i was cool enough to post pics with liquor in them

But yea, I just took and put the sub in the middle of the cargo area then used one of the small ratchet straps and used the hooks that are under the carpet as anchors for a baby seat or something...they should be little black metal pieces. And then just cinch down the sub using that.

Lol... actually you're right, walmart doesn't sell rockford.... you have to go to K-Mart for that fancy high-end car audio :lolling:

Back in the early 90's, rockford fosgate was excellent equipment. I don't think they've lost much and the prices are competitive. I'd take it over any sony or kenwood in a heartbeat.

rockford fosgate used to be great when their stuff was made in USA... like most other companies, they've moved everything to China.

The only RF thing i might possibly rock nowadays is the P3 punch subs... the P1's and P2's are pathetic

No, its a 10 in a ported box. Its plenty loud enough and does just what I want it to do. If it were any more I would look like you and the other 90 percent of people with subs that like to rattle and bang their way around town with every single body panel rattling around thus sounding like complete a**.

Each to his own, but the insults aren't necessary - it's just car audio.

1st off, Welcome to NICOClub.
The pathfinder community is small and helpful, :picard: albeit a bit catty sometimes (I'm guilty too). The people here are quick to help.

01silvapathy and fueler are my favorite :rotfl

I just assumed fueler liked to keep hydrated while operating his vehicle :lolling: .

The L bracket idea sounds the best.

Haha yes, I noticed fueler and silvapathy aren't the biggest fans of each other. I have thought about the L bracket. Just don't think it would be all that easy on my speaker box removing it for storage room, then replacing for my tunes. Fueler gave me a pretty good idea though. THinking about using a retractable luggage strap, like the ones used for trailering vehicles. Strapping it over top and tightening it down well. I'll put some pics up maybe if it comes together right.

Thanks for the welcome to SBK!! Glad to be here and already learned so much about my ride. I LOVE MY PATHY! :dblthumb:
