My 02 Pathfinder wont start.. it thinks its not in park?

My 02 pathfinder has started not starting recently....All other power works. NOTHING happens when I turn the key. I managed to start it in neutral the other day, but that doesn't always work. Is this a common problem and please tell me there is an easy fix.

more than likely your manual lever position switch on the side of the trans is out of adjustment or corroded internally. they are easy to get off and less than a hundred bucks even from the dealer. try cleaning it internally if you cant get the adjustment to fix the problem.
