My 01 i30 sub

The sub goes on and off.it will work for maybe 5 seconds then stop for a minute then work for another 5 seconds.When i go in the trunk,if i push up on the sub and apply some pressure it starts to work but only when i have the pressure applied.Any ideas what can be the problem.btw its a stock bose 8in.sub

It sounds like it is blown. Does it feel scratchy when you push up on it?

i actually just took the bottom black part of the sub off and its working fine now idk why.lol
