I searched, looked in the manual, and didn't find info on either item in my subject line.

1. Is there a way to mute the radio? For example, if I roll down my window and want to quickly silence the radio, is there another way besides the Power switch?

2. Maybe I missed it, but is there a way to search the iPod, or perhaps scroll faster, to get to different song titles / artists? If I'm looking for a song/album by Tom Petty, there's a lot of scrolling involved to get there. Pretty tedious, when you have 100's of artists/albums.

Hey Jim, Im still working on the dang Music Box gizmo. Was excited about the I-Pod deal but am holding off on getting one until I nail down the stuff at hand. UGGH Til then...Im still riding the short bus!

As far as the mute .... the phone on, the voice command, and the off switch is what I see the only thing that turns the volume to mute at this time.

Going to the Dealer some time this week to check on some things. Ill check with them....But why would you Deny the world the Stylings ofTom Petty on your new G37 Bose Studio on Wheels, (when you can find it)......You may have to settle on ABBA!

Doesn't the controller knob also work like the iPod front controller?

It does, however when I scroll my iPod scrollwheel fast it starts skipping through the alphabet (i.e., it'll first scroll through some of the "a" artists then quickly jumps displaying the letters "B", then "C") until you slow down again.

the Music box allows searches, just wondering why the iPod connection doesn't have a way to do the same trhing.

G Whiz - lemme borrow your ABBA CDs. I know you have some

There's an optical scanner built into the rear-view mirror, for scanning 8-tracks and cassettes (see that little sensor thing?). You have to un-spool the tape and hold it in front of the scanner, and it dumps straight to the music box.

Try it and let me know how it goes!

Didn't work. Neither did putting my vinyls in the spare tire and driving in a clockwise circle in a parking lot. Cheap pos infiniti!!!

1. - My 2003 had a power button on the steering wheel, I'm sad to see it gone. I've had to resort to just holding down the volume control, not that big of a deal.

The annoying one is using the bluetooth. My phone still SUCKS on the bluetooth. I still use it to let me know when the phone is ringing. The bad part is when I choose "Use Handset" it immediately cranks the stereo back up to where I had it (somewhere around deafening) and I have to hurry and turn it down.

2. I have no ipod, i can't help. not yet at least.

Was at my favorite store...COSTCO... and low and behold, they must have every IPOD gizmo and attachment available. I was thinking maybe I should get one of them to see how this thing works with My G and to help my friend "carman63" with his dilema.

Which one would you folks recommend for the G....got myself a shuffle and I dont think I need anything real special...but from what I understand there is one thats gonna be like a IPhone but without the phone coming out....

......Whadda ya all think?

1 little 2 little 3 little gigabytes... 4 little 5 little 6 little gigabytes... 7 little 8 little 9 little gigabytes 10 little gigabytes, NANO........Im so

The iPod Touch is out already (looks like the iPhone). CostCo doesn't sell it, AFAIK. Both it and the iPhone work with the G37. (I bought my better half the Touch, I have the phone.)

For your purposes, it depends on how much music you own (or want to carry), whether you want flash technology or a hard drive (hard drives are cheaper per GB but have moving parts) and whether you want the ability to surf the web via wi-fi (that's the Touch's advantage).

You can get a 4GB Nano for $150 or so, and 8GB for about $200. For $250, you can get an 80GB iPod Classic, or $350 I think for 160GB. For $299, you can get an 8GB Touch or the 16GB model for $399.

The most cost-effective model, for pure storage space, is the Classic. But if you want to do 'more' than listen to music, you can get the Touch, with 10% of the storage space. The Nano is a nice 'entry level' size, and price. It does everything the Classic does, in a smaller format and capacity.

Good luck on your decision
