Haven't seen this thread up since I've been here. What kinds of music do you guys listen to? I listen to trance only.

I try to find a middle ground between trance (too hard) and faggy dance music (too many screaming divas). Can be challenging.....

Found a Brazilian drum-and-bass CD recently that's fun. (Most drum-and-bass is mind-numbing after a while).

I like NEW music, hate hearing the same "anthems" over and over again.

Sunday Club - Eterna's Flight

Oldschool '97 trance. I can listen to this song over and over and I will never get tired of it ever. That's when I know the song is a quality production.

Actually my favorite music is anything captured live... somewhat less electronic processing! The more natural the better, or if they can atleast re-create their sound live, not just in a studio.

But yeah, you're absolutely right, without it, we'd still be listening to a string quartet in our living rooms! I actually love what bands like Disturbed and Linkin Park have done with computer generated, electronic sequencing. Pink Floyd has been using electronic musical instrumentation and synths for 30+ years... It totally has it's place, I'm just not into the "techno" type of e-music.. I guess techno is just a generic term by now, so I didn't want to offend anyone!

Damn - Y'all making my a$$ feel OLD!!!

Favorite bands: Queensryche, Mercy Me, Beastie Boys, Rush, Dream Theater, old Metallica, and some obscure bands like Saraya and Baby Animals.

Scary that I've never even heard of half the bands you guys listed. I gotta get out more.

My kid likes Linkin Park, Beastie Boys and POD...

you like beatie boys, your kid likes beatie boys and i like beastie boys, these guys are timeless to say the least. don't feel too bad AZ, I 'appreciate' Rush, won't find me jammin in the car to them, but as a music guy i know they're damn good and talented. And of course only the old Metallica for me anything after '...and justice for all' has sucked. personally master of puppets was my favorite. i like linkin park and pod as well and a few of the other new things coming out. i've actually been shocked at some of the stuff i'm starting to hear on the radio and good channels like mtv2 or much music. when i say shocked, it's in a good way. music was becoming a real headache with no individuality for the longest time. now there's new things going in all directions and succeeding. of course there's always going to be trend followers. for instance i've finally been seeing mighty mighty bosstones on tv, WTF! i never thought ska would have hit mainstream. Or howabout the vines, strokes...one in the same but at least they're heading down new paths for rock. I am dissapointed darker industrial rock like Stabbing westward, God Lives underwater and Nine Inch Nails didn't prevail over the Limp Bizkit wanna be's of the very late 90's. I'm going back to my roots and back on the never ending search for unheard, unpromoted and untainted by media and money kinda bands. Bands with originality and just plain good. I'm jealous of anybody that lives in cincinnatti because obviously they got a good interest in the value of music. With radio stations like WOXY, I wish we had something like that here in Louisville. All we have is mullet rock radio and mass produced radio. If anybody is interested, go to your windows media player and the radio section and play the WOXY channel. also connect through http://www.woxy.com:ylsuper

I listen to pretty much everything from country, trance, rap, rock, heavy metal. I like it pretty much all. My favorite band of all time though is likely Pink Floyd.

"I drive really slow, in the ultra-fast lane, while people behind me are going insane!I park my car in handicap spaces, while handicap PEOPLE make handicap FACES........ I'm an a$$hole!!!!!!!!!!!"

Aaah yes.. it truely is a work of art!

On another note, i really am getting into some of the newer bands. It seems like from the mid 90's until recently most new music just got stale... but there is SO much good stuff coming out now! Check out Chevelle, they are an OZ fest band and have an album coming out in October.. very creative beautiful music.. clean harmonies... oooohhh so nice... also a band called Seether, really cool. I've always been a huge Rush fan, but the last ten years of their work left me unimpressed.. but their newest album is very good. Pink Floyd needs to get Roger Waters back and put out one last album to blow my musical load.... totally my favorite band ever.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
