heeey there

well i went to this place and they had the aux ports called.

NISSV3 (http://www.logjamelectronics.com/soundauxniss.html)I have a 06 z, and it says up to 04. maybe it wont work/fit, resolving the problem.

if i get an aux, i'll be

ABLE TO plug my mp3 to it, could raise the volume from the wheel still.

BUT, if i get a new stereo it will look very different and i will need to use a remote control, i could play mp3's and plug my mp3 player.

the big question is.. do i want to keep changing volume from the wheel or I want to forget about all this, and use a remote control to do that? (changing songs will be done by the mp3 player i belive)

what do you guys have and think?

Hi...you can have the best of both worlds. Crutchfield sells an interface for around $70 that will hook up your steering wheel controls. I was in Circuit City asking about puting a new system in my new Z. They said to call the customer service number at Crutchfield and make sure it's going to work, then they would install it with the new system.

For me, the interface is the way to go and I'm thinking about doing the same thing to use the iPod in my 06 ZR. But I've also been burning mp3s onto CDs for use in the car, and can fit anywhere from 200 to 250 songs depending on the bitrate used for burning. It takes a few seconds longer for the head unit to recognize an mp3 CD vs a standard music CD, but it works very well and sounds good.
