Not sure if it is the same exact problem, but some of the CD's i have loaded, even the ones that were store bought, are recording without the name of the song or artist. then it's a pain when scrolling through as you don't know which album you are sorting through.

anyone have this issue or suggestions?

You may have already done this from the question above, but the procedure to update missing titles involves downloading the missing title info to the compact flash card and then taking that card to your PC and using Infiniti's software, you update the missing titles, and then take the card and upload the info to the car's hard drive.

If this is what you did and it didn't work, I apologize for duplicating the instructions. It worked for me (I enjoy classical music and there's lots of discs that wern't in the default database). However, every title I ran agains the website got update successfully.

ThanksNorm

Are you saying that you can upload music from the compact flash to the hardrive? Operator manual say nothing about that. I thought they were treated like to separate sources. Can you tell me how you do this?

No you can't upload actual MP-3 files from the compact flash to the hard drive. I was talking about the "list of titles". The database of titles on the hard drive doesn't have every music disc or song out there. So you download the list of missing titles to the compact flash (using the menus on the Audio screen) to the compact flash card. You then take the compact flash card to your home PC and using the software provided on the Infiniti website, you download the list of missing titles. Then you take the compact flash card and put it back in the card and use the menus to upload the missing title information for the music you have already copied to the hard drive. Therefore you won't wind up with "unknown disc" listed as a choice of music to listen to.

No one seems to know why Infiniti didn't allow copying MP-3 files from the compact flash to the hard drive, but I assume it's to prevent copyright problems with the music disc people.

ThanksNorm

What I found with this is that if you load a cd that is not recognized, you can find missing titles using the Search Missing Titles feature, but if you change anything in any of the songs - like change the mood to lively, or something, the whole CD no longer shows up as 'Missing', and the Search Missing Titles is grayed out until you delete the entire album fully (ie. first delete, then go to deleted items, and delete again), and then reload it, and don't change anything in it before you search for missing titles again.

Hope that makes sense.
