Often when "ripping" a CD to my '07 G35 Music Box, the Cd Title, Track Titles, and Artist Names are not read. Anyone know why? Any solution other than typing in manually?

It may have to do with the actual program you are using to burn the cd's

http://www.microsoft.com/windo....aspx

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the prompt reply. My problem is different. The 2007 G35 with the technology package has a "Music Box" sound system which can be set to automatically rips CD's to the car's 9 Gig built-in hard drive while they play. Unlike a home computer, (as far as I know) there are no owner initiated commands for this process. The CD contents are transfered nicely, the music will play, but the CD titles, artist name and track titles often (but not always) display as Artist Unknown, or Track 1, or something similar.

The manual Pg. 4-47 says, "If the title information of the track beingrecorded is stored either in the hard-disk drive or in the CD, the title is automatically displayed on the screen. For title acquisition from the hard-disk drive, music recognition technology and related data are provided by Gracenote ."

When I rip the same CD onto my home computer the titles are copied/displayed.

Has anyone else had this experience? Is there a fix?

Thanks in advance.

You need to download the "titleinfosearch.exe" program from infiniti.com/music-update. There's also some instructions there to transfer the missing title info to a Compact Flash card (in the car), you then put the CF card in a card reader in your PC, run the titleinfosearch and it downloads the missing title info from the Internet, then put the CF card back in the car, and then you can update the missing title info. If it still doesn't recognize them, then there's a way to manually edit the album/song info in the MusicBox.
