Music Box Recording Limit

I recently purchased a Nissan Maxima which has the Music Box system without the Navigation Package. According to the manual the Music Box hard drive will record a maximum of 99 albums or 2000 tracks. I have recorded 15 albums comprising less than 200 tracks and the Music Box system indicates that the hard drive is full. What is going on?

The manual has nothing to say about this problem. I see one reference to 'converting' in the manual but no explanation. I once got a message on the system to wait while some recently recorded tracks were converting but did not see that message again. This would not be a problem if the vehicle had a 6 disc changer, but it handles only a single CD
