I have a 2-CD set for an artist - 1 album, but it spans 2 CD's. When I recorded on the Music Box, I "hoped" that it would recognize the same name and artist, but no....I now have 2 identical entries for artist/album - just different songs. Is there any way to get around this?

I would say put both albums on a CD and record as a MP3 disk (as opposed to regular music CD)....which you will be able to fit both albums on one CD... it should hold and display all song names.....
Is that what you was looking for??

Unfortunately, the Music Box only records regular music CD's. Kind of outdated at this point, but I have a bunch of CD's that I listen to on a regular basis so figured I'd record there and always have them at the ready.

I don't understand exactly what the problem is the way you explained it. Is your issue that you have two albums with the same name, whereas you wanted both albums to be merged under one album? If that is the case, why would you think that would happen? Every single published album in the world has a unique identifying code. Nothing would recognize two different published albums and merge them as one just because names are similar(not that music box specifically works on that principle). It's not outdated, that's how it should work to prevent inconsistencies and errors. If your issue is simply both albums have the exact same names, you should be able to rename the albums; I haven't used the music box in forever, but I think I recall seeing that option.

If that is not to your liking, the other option would be to buy a compact flash disk if your car is equipped with that, and save your files as mp3 on that archived the way you want.

Suppose you have the Beatles White album on CD. It comes as 2 discs, ok? So, when I record disc 1, and then disc 2 in the Music Box, I get 2 separate entries for "The Beatles/White Album" showing up. If that is how it works, so be it.

This may be a better example - I just downloaded Live from Gary Clark Jr as an MP3. The length of the album is 96 minutes, so I'd need to split the copy on to 2 audio CD's for me to get this onto the Music Box. When it gets done recording both CD's, I get 2 separate entries.
