Yes, definitely keep looking. The dealer can cancel the codes and provide a new intelligent key but they are not cheap at all.

Did the valet hand off the key or just drive up with the vehicle? If the key isn't in any of the cubby holes, maybe they left it in the glove box or under one of the mats? It also could have fallen between or under the seats. Put the smallest hose attachment on and give the MO a good vacuuming with an upright, that might "pull" the key from wherever its hiding. The smallest attachment's opening should be small enough such that the key collects at the end of the hose rather than being sucked into the collection chamber.

Surely you're using the second key that came with the Mo. I'd use that while I kept keep looking.

This can be done but the problem with this approach is that the lockout prevention mechanism will prevent using any power locks or intelligent key request switches to lock the door as it thinks the driver has forgotten to remove their key. It would be necessary to manually lock the door when leaving and if anyone broke in they could still start the MO and drive off since the intellikey is somewhere in the vehicle.

Luckily once locked, the intelligent key request switches won't respond to an unlock command from outside the vehicle unless an intellikey is also present outside which I think is the point you were trying to make.

I have an '09 Murano so I'm not sure this applies to the '06.Check under the carpet where the seat frame bolts to the floor. There is a pocket under the carpet flap that loves to eat small items. It took me a month to find my thumb drive.

Ah, I understand the full conundrum now. Get a strong telescoping magnetic pick up tool like that used by mechanics and search under and between seats and see if it picks up anything.

Thank you evbdy for ur concern. I have found it finally.I had to remove the seat and look under the carpet. I think it is this pocket u were talking about!!

Martinrrrr, i couldn't use my 2nd key, i also couldnt close the door manually, it automatically opens because they key is inside.I did not take the key from the valet, i was drunk! dont drink if u have this car thanks evbdy

This may be a difference between the previous and 2nd gen MO. The vehicle would NOT allow you to manually lock or use the 2nd key because the 1st key was still in the vehicle? I'm a bit shocked at this behavior, it's almost the exact opposite on the 2nd gen MO's.
