Murano slows then stops then unable to start-Battery dies

Hi,
Please help! Our 05 Murano slowed. The accelerator spotted working and the car came to a controlled stop. We figured it was a dead battery. We had the battery tested and it was dead. We purchased a new battery, put it on our car and checked the alternator. Everything was fine. Then within two weeks we had the same problem. We had the car towed to our repair place and were told it is the alternator. We replaced the alternator and am still having the same problem. We have taken the new battery to the shop to have it recharged because it is drained. Is this common? Do you think it may be the regulator? What do we do now? Can anyone help? Please!

Hi there. First off, welcome to NiCO. The issue with your Murano sounds very frustrating. At any point in this process have you had both a brand-new alternator and a brand-new battery at the same time? I can't quite tell from your post.

My experience has been that once a battery is that flat-dead, it can be flaky afterwards, even if trickle-charged back up to full. I've had them discharge while driving and not charge back up again, and I've had them discharge just sitting doing nothing (but would take a charge).

Anyone out there had a similar experience? Can you lend some knowledge? Thanks!

We had the alternator changed. The battery wasn't fully charged when my husband drove it home with the lights, radio, and windshield wipers on. We took the battery to have it fully charged. My husband hasn't put the battery on the car since it has been charged. I will tell him to do it tomorrow. I will post after this is done.
