Murano's pre muffler...

Hi:

I convinced my Dad that if he wanted a nice, modern, and powerful SUV he had to go Murano...and he did. Great vehicle, and now I'm trying to see how to make it more powerful without changing it too much.

For starters, did you see that pre-muffler...it looks like a full size muffler just in the middle of the system. Does anyone knows if it's just a big resonator? Has anyone replaced this for a glasspack or straight tube? If so, does the sound changes much?

I'm betting a slight increase in power and better tone for just replacing this thing.
