I drove one that I had for a rental over some parking curbs and across some rocky terrain to get to the Texas Roadhouse after picking the wrong parking lot turn-in. Seemed pretty capable. But then again, so do most rental cars.

It works well in snow. When you put it in AWD you have to roll it a little until you hear the drive engage. Not sure I'd ever do serious off road with it: not enough ground clearance.
