Recently when I fill up the 2006 Murano the pump clicks off before it is full and after all of the fuel is put in the gauge only shows less that 3/4 full. It never shows Full. Has this happened to anyone else.

This just started happening on my 2010 Murano. The service person said that it's probably the fuel sensor and part of the recall they just announced.

I think this may be the problem we are having on our 2009. Where can I get a copy of the recall?

This isn't a new problem. I have a 2006 which does the same thing. There is a TSB on the problem. Other cars and brands have a similar problem.

There is a flapper valve at the end of the filler tube which prevents back flow, but as the tank fills, the valve starts to close restricting the flow of fuel into the tank, thus shutting off the pump.

Did your dealer repair this. Was it part of a recall?

Yeah yeah, mine did this just yesterday! Kinda irritating to think you're full, put the pump away, get in your car and pull away and THEN realize you're only at 3/4 tank.... Lame.

So do they just replace a piece, or what? Is this going to cost anything out of pocket?

I have not had mine repaired. I replied to the person that had theirs repaired but have not heard back from them. I will post whenever I know anything.

As in your regular warranty, or under a recall?

It's pitiful to hear that this problem exists with Muranos too! The Infiniti Q, M and FX experience this problem too, but wasn't issued an official "fix" Nissan/Infiniti really needs to address all their carry over quality issues.

You can look up all Technical Service Bulletins and Recalls for your vehicle at this link, and yes there is a TSB for the problem you're describing:

http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/

Wow, there is a ton of TSB's for the 09-10 Murano, I understand your frustration, there's got to be 5 times as many as I've got for my 08 Rogue. But you could look on the bright side, at least Nissan is on top of these issues and will fix them on warranty.

It's irrelevant if there is a recall or if it's warranty work, it's all warranty and it's all covered - of course you will never have to pay out of pocket for any repair service when within your warranty period.

Here's the TSB for your fuel gauge problem, just take your car in and it will be fixed under warranty, no big deal guys - and if you want you can quote the exact TSB number but your dealer will already have all of this:

TSB No. NTB10035

IF YOU CONFIRM: The fuel gauge is inaccurate (does not read full when it is actually full), and / or DTC P0463 is stored. ACTION: Replace the fuel level sensor units - main and sub. - Use the parts listed in the Parts Information. NOTE: Do not replace the entire fuel pump assembly for this incident, if it should occur. See this bulletin for further detail.

Yes, the dealer repaired it. Under warranty, but as has been mentioned, there is a TSB for it.

The fix works for a while. Sometimes I get a full tanks, sometimes not. I find if I pump slower I'll get a tank that is full.

Had this problem in my 06 Murano-although it read as dead empty when full, 1/2 full, etc. Took it to the dealer-under warranty-replaced the sending unit....happened again, re-replaced sending unit....happened again, replaced the fuel pump. It works now-has for 2 years...but there have been 1-2 times where it briefly read empty with fuel light on-sometimes the distance to empty was correct, though. Now, if I could only fix that dadburn sun visor and bubbly grille, I'd be in business.

The murano has 2 fuel level sensors. You will need to determine which one is causing the problem.
