Murano door handle falls off

My 2006 Murano SL front door handle just fell off! Any suggestions/success stories for getting dealer/Nissan asistance? I've seen lots of other charer online about these door handles.

Out of warranty. Dealrer just charged $50 labor plus handle: $116. Seemed fair. The next day, the plastic covering to the key lock of the same handle fell off. Dealer is ordering part, but tried to imply to my wife that it may not be the same issue.

They better not pull that on me, or that dealer will have a major problem with ME!
