Car: What about those chips from Germany to enhance performance on a 2003 Murano, and other enhancements? Thank you

Post

Don't waste your money on a ram air, or chips in a Murano because the CVT won't shift after running it for a while. In fact it never shifts unless you let up. It's dynamite up to 60, but you're almost red lined after that.

The CVT isn't supposed to "shift" at all. It's basically one long continuous gear that adjusts RPMs.

Are you saying you've tried both? Or are you looking into both?

I'm saying the CVT doesn't shift because the rpms don't drop like they used when different speeds are reached like they used to under normal driving. When I punch it, it continues up to red line with no rpm adjustment, i.e. "shifting." Granted it's a missnomer, but it's also a waste of money if you buy chips to go faster than about 60 which I reach in a matter of a few seconds.

So you bought a chip from someone who didn't know what they were doing?

CVT fail. Go to a dealer if its still under warranty or look for a recall, better yet just sell the dam thing and get something with a good old fashioned trans with gears

Old news. Need instructions or pictures that show the sequence for reinstalling the nylon gear, and the spring washers in the 2003 Murano driver's seat. "My dog ate the instructions I wrote out last year when I took it apart, and finally got pissed enough to pay $65 for the 2 cent gear."

Some idiot made a cabriolet flavor of those chips. Don't try it. I had explosive diarrhea for a week, lost the sight in my left eye, and have cancer.

Just remembered why I left this site with the stupid, non-funny, ignorant replies from stupid people who have nothing to do except post stupid stuff on this web site. Those with their "funny" not replies need to get a life, get off the couch, and go on a diet because you know what you really are. Fat and stupid.

Obviously if you've taken the time to come back here and insult us, then you must really be a winner yourself.

Your whole original post was ignorant, stupid, and vague. The statement you made seemed to make most people that know anything about CVT's think that you didn't know what you were talking about from what I see. CVT's don't shift. It will stay near redline at all times until you let off of the throttle, because that's the way it works.

On top of that, you said you shouldn't waste your time with chips - as if you had experience with this. Cars do not use "chips" anymore, so if you're buying a "chip" you're buying one of those gimmicky resistors off of eBay that do nothing. Most performance on the vehicles computer is adjusted via the diagnostic port and tuned via a programmer or a computer system. Chips haven't been used in years.

Then you come back a couple of years later to call everyone fat and stupid because you didn't get the reply you were hoping for. Congratulations, you insulted a group of people on the internet.

Educate yourself on automobiles and proper grammar, then maybe you can justify getting a sensible reply to your questions.

This thread is like when someone gives you a zinger and you think of a retort....2 hours later. But instead of like most people, who are like, "damn, why didn't I think of that then?!", this guy goes back to the guy that zinged him, and gives him the retort. I have a feeling this guy is the fat girl in his group of friends.
