Just wondering if anyone would like to see a joint forum for the Murano and FX 45. I know the vehicles are different - however they are closer to each other then they are most other vehicles produced. I know there are a couple FX 45 owners who have posted in the Infiniti section and I own a Murano. I know 3 people hardly makes it worth a separate place - are there others who have any interest? It was brought up at the end of this http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....11659

Thanks. Great board BTW...

Welcome Dave. That is a good point about the new Murano and FX45. Seems the FX45 guys tend to just hang out in the Infiniti section, but the Murano guys are left with no place to go. Maybe we can just add the two with the other SUV's (Qx4 and Pathfinder).

There actually was a Murano Forum - http://www.nissanmurano.org - that has dissolved. It actually went away the day I bought mine but servered as a great source of info. I have collected a few articles from the different road tests that have been done. I had to do a lot of convincing as this is the first Japanese car I have ever owned - I was raised with GM products in my playpen. Needless to say - I don't think this will be my last - been eyeing the '03 Maxima and the 350Z. But, I think I am gonna have to find a second (or third) job before that happens :)

Anyway - thanks for the warm welcome and hopefully I can learn a few tricks and provide some experiences of my own.

We are currently thinking about how, when and where we are putting one in.

maybe we add it to our NissanInfinti SUV section or a forum all its own, it will partially depend on the # of members wee have with those vehicles and how active they are.

We will make a call soon.

Fred...:)

How many Typhoon's did they even make? I bet I've only seen 2 or 3 in person ever.

Kiss my arse Stoney! The LC2 owns all!! That's the 3.8L found in the Turbo Buick for those that don't know. Just playin' yo. That's also my jive talk for the evening, btw.

Dave, welcome to NICO! I sat in a Murano a couple weekends ago and loved it. I also have been a big fan of the SyTy since it's inception and have been a Turbo Regal guy since 1988. It's really too bad GM didn't sell more SyTy's as they were truly ahead of their time. I won't get started on that though. I checked out your site and it kicks ***. Do you know Pete from ANS? I almost had him rebuild my engine in my T-Type before I traded it.

Stick around. We'll get a Murano/FX area rolling pretty soon, I'm sure. If you just need random entertainment, be sure to go to 240 General. It's like watching a soap opera, or at least a train wreck...

The Ty is my baby. It has got to be the biggest pain in the a$$ vehicle ever made - but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Brief history just to get the basics out of the way....

'91 - 2995 Syclones were made. Syclones are pickups - think S-10.'92 - Syclone was discontinued 3 were made - Typhoon Introduced - 2500 were made - Think S-10 Blazer/Jimmy'93 - 2200 Typhoons were made.

So basically you are looking at a total of 7700 vehicles ever made with the turbo 4.3. Also, they are AWD - making the 285 hp somewhat easy to handle :) All were made with a 4-speed automatic.

Mine was actually stolen a year and a half ago - I got it back and it wasn't in BAD condition. Feel free to take a look at some of my pics.

My love affair with turbo vehicles started with the Grand National. The Typhoon is the only turbo I've owned - but have a softspot in my heart for any forced air vehicle - including the Skyline :) One of the guys from Motorex also owns a Syclone and a Turbo Regal...

Anyway - to keep this on track - thanks for the welcome again and hopefully I won't be starting any "I Hate Nissan" posts.
