ok, so heres my problem, my check engine light has been on and I got it tested. They said to reset the codes and wait until the light comes back on, and get it retested. Did that and I am still getting the same 3 codes. O'reilly gave me a printout for them, P1401, which is EGR Temperature Sensor circuit malfunction. P0500 vehicle speed sensor malfunction, and P0325, knock sensor circuit malfunction. :wtf2:
What I notice when driving is that my tachometer will very slowly keep increasing until it maxes out past the 9k mark. The engine is not running at that speed of course. I can take a video of what my instrument panel looks like while I am driving if that would help anyone help me diagnose what the prob is. I guess my main question would be that is one of those sensors failing causing any of the other sensors to malfunction? I know general rule of thumb is to start with the cheapest option, but if that doesn't fix it, I'm out the $100+ for the cheapest part and that's not even including labor if I can't do it myself. Many thanks in advance for having this forum and I can guarantee I will be using this site quite often.

you really need the engine control chapter of the FSM to look up the afflicted part for each of the PO codes...
if you send me your email address in a PM, I will be glad to send you the pdf of the EC chapter.

So I'm completely new to the site, I don't have the patience to sit here and find the button to reply to your email fourdrinie lol, but my email is [email protected] I took a video and am going to post it when I get some peace and quiet around here. I'm guessing it would have to be in a new thread as I can't find the upload icon on this reply box. Thnx
