I purchased my Versa a year and a half ago brand new - it's a 2007 SL with the CVT transmission. 3 months after I received it I had to bring it in because it kept stalling on me. At the dealership they told me that they had to replace a fuel check valve. Now, just this past month, and only a year and a half old with 21,000 miles on it, I discovered rust on the back trunk and had a hard time getting my car to start. I blamed the cold Michigan weather, but saw other old cars in the neighborhood starting right up and felt that something was wrong with my Versa. I brought it in again. I was told that apparently Nissan did not "seal" my trunk paint and they took my trunk off and totally repainted it. They also found that my fuel pressure regulator needed to be replaced. I don't know if that's the same thing that they replaced before as the repair work states two different things, but I am starting to think that I got a lemon. I understand that with new cars there are always kinks that need to be worked out, but I have never received recall notices on anything and am wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar? I love my Versa but am starting to feel disappointed. I even wrote Nissan about this and received an e-mail from them stating that they received my e-mail but never heard anything from them since. Other than this, my only complaint about the Versa would be that it is so light of a car that it doesn't handle wind well and tends to blow around the road easily.
I'm just wondering if I was alone in these fuel valve/regulator and rust problems...
