I would like to highly doubt it. I would think it runs off the same channel that starts the car. If Nissan was caught having other keys starting other cars? Oh boy . . .

It may be your remote battery dying or you bumped it. I was driving along a couple weeks ago and all of a sudden my trunk popped open, heard it and saw the warning on the cluster. I pulled over and shut it. Not 10 mins later it opened again for no reason (keys were sitting still on the passenger seat, no chance of being bumped). I swapped the battery from my other remote and it hasn't done it since. It was quite annoying though lol.

I would definitely have some words with Nissan if we found that to be true. That's way too dangerous for my liking, though I can't say I've ever had that happen.

Highly unlikely. The RFID in the ikeys are supposed to be unique and the car has to be matched to all the ikeys at the dealership service department using a $4K CONSULT III PC.

In QR25DE's case, I would suspect a problem in the trunk release circuit inside the car.

This scares me. Especially bc the dealer for some reason did not give me the second fob key so I only have one. conveniently, i have an appointment today at the service side so I can go demand it...

Wow, that's pretty shady of them to just give you ONE fob key

well I've never had this happen, but its insn't outside of the realm of possibility, statistically speaking I mean...

but I always keep my trunk button off, and the glove compartment locked due to what's in my trunk, so maybe that's why its never happened

Yes, it is possibleIn Taiwan there are incidents where people unlock the cars using remote only to find out it is not their cars. And also there was one incident where a person borrowed his friend's car and drove off. After a while the friend came downstaires finding his car is still parked on the driveway. He then called the person who wanted to borrow his car asking how come he didnt take the car. The other person was like what are you talking about, I have already driven off. Apparently, he drove the wrong car.......

Never said it could not be done, just unlikely. It's much easier and cheaper for the bad guy to throw the car onto a flat bed and take it away.

When you get your new i-key paired to the car (along with the one you have), the missing one will no longer work. Go get that ikey!
