So I decided last night that I want to get rid of the A/C. Pulled all the plumming out today and I decided I want to keep the stock fan. It probably wont do much but its better than nothing since I'm poor and cant afford a nice set of duels. I plan on getting a Koyo but for now I will run with the stocker for the break in period since I wont be taking her over 35k rpm.

My first question is how can I wire that up so when the key is in the on position the fan is running full time?

Second, I finally let my car idol up to running temp. while the heat was on and the air coming out was not warm at all. Any reason why?

Third, I'm getting a Greddy IM and will be doing my IC piping soon and think I might have run into a few problems. You know on the stock piping there is that black rubber piece shaped like an "S" kinda with the vac. hoses on it. When I get my IM and do the IC piping will I have to incorperate that into it. I plan on running the Greddy E-01 and E-Manage and venting to the atmosphere. If I can what do I do about the open end on top of the valve cover?

No hot air, did you pull out the heater core with the A/C? If you had to pull any coolant hoses you likely pulled the heater core too, put it back. What S-hose? Put up a pic if you can

No pics but I only removed from the motor side of the fire wall to the front of the car.

Yup. It wasn't even really warm. It was like a/c kinda.

If the car is warm and you hav eno heat, check your thermostat. If you didnt replace it before, no is a good time.

Its a brand new t-stat. And the heat was working real good before I took the KA out.

Any help on questions 1 and 3?

Ok The heat works like it did before. I still need help on the stock fan wiring if anyone can help. Also I really need help on the intercooler piping. You know on the stock piping there is that black rubber piece shaped like an "S" kinda with the vac. hoses on it. When I get my Greddy intake manifold and do the intercooler piping will I have to incorperate that into it. I plan on running the Greddy E-01 and E-Manage and venting to the atmosphere. If I can what do I do about the open end on top of the valve cover?

If your talking about the the rubber hose coming off the turbo which connects to the MAfs then to the filter. Yes unless you can get tunning to where the Mafs can be removed. As far as running the BOV back in to it you dont have to but the car will die out on you when it blows off. I know the SAFC will correct that but not sure on the Greddy stuff. It may need to be manually set for that. On another post you asked about the line from the valve covers going into the Hose as well. My oil catch can came with the plug to plug the intake hose. Then I had to modify the T and put a hose between the two valve covers and the other side of the T pipe goes to the catch can then to the air. As far as doing the IC piping I have the Greddy Fmic, its the one for the SR the piping is not that hard. The cold side can be used with modications and a hot pipe will need to be made to go down in the fender. Just look at my pics to see what I mean. I have the Greddy IM so your set up should end up similar to mine. Hope this is what you were asking about and that it helps.

you can route the hose on top of the valve cover like stock, or you can do a oil-catch-can setup.

IIRC, on the S13, the stock electric fan is controlled by a thermo switch and a relay. Very simple. If you want it to come on with the ignition, then just short out that thermo switch.

But if you've still got the KA radiator, thermo switch, and electric fan, then I would just leave them as they are. Your fan will not come on until your coolant hits about 85ºC, which is good for emissions and efficiency. If you wire your fan to come on with ignition, then your engine will take longer to reach operating temperature, which means you'll burn more fuel, pollute, stink up the garage, etc., while waiting for it to heat up. And chicks will avoid you because your car will smell like an Exxon refinery when it is cold.

LOL. So how can I hook it up to a switch so I can do it my self? Right now it wont come on even if the motor is at running temp. Any quick fixes???

Ok, I looked at the wiring diagrams... you've got a thermo switch mounted on your lower radiator hose. One wire from the switch (brown/white) goes to the A/C relay; the other wire goes to the fan itself.

So you could do it two ways:

1. Cut the brn/wht wire and reconnect it to another relay that comes on when the ignition comes on. This will leave the switch in the line, so your fan won't come on until the engine gets hot.

2. Cut the other wire from the thermo switch and route it to a relay that comes on when ignition comes on. This way your fan will run whenever your ignition is on.

Either way, make sure that the relay has some headroom on its current rating. Obviously, I prefer method #1.

Ok, as I look at the fan there is two different plugs. One which goes up towards the hood and connects to a harness. The other goes between the motor and the passenger side suspension tower and is not connected to anything. I cannot figure out where it connects to. Would this be the a/c switch wire.

Don't worry about the fan wiring... instead, look for the temperature switch on the lower radiator hose, then go from there.

I do not see why your fan has 2 plugs. Should be just one plug with 2 wires. One wire goes to ground, and the other wire goes to the temperature switch.
