Hey there, I am hoping to soon be joining the ranks of the KA24DET owners (if the next two weeks go as planned). I have a question though, regarding the setup that I want. I don't have much money, and thus a large front mount intercooler is out of the question (it would also take away from the sleeper idea) but I was wondering if I could string up two DSM/RX-7/Saab/SR20 intercoolers in a row to enhance my cooling or would that mess something up. I will only be running between 6-10 PSI on a T3 or a T4 so I'm not going hardcore. I would love the help. Thanks again.

I hope you dont mean two separate IC's with a hose running between them. That would cause large pressure loss. If youre considering welding them together to form a large single IC, that may be a good plan.I dont know whats involved or how efficient it would be, but it does sound possible. You could always find a Starion, Volvo, and Isuzu NPR front mount for around $100.

It has been done before welding two side mounts…the intercooler is going to be very inefficient, with a large pressure drop.

What you can do, is get a front mount, and paint it black.

2 side mount cores welded together will be just as effecient as a decent front mount. most side mounts are really really thick, so it would drop charge temps drastically. id prob go with a starion though if you can find one.
