So Ive always been wanting to add some gauges to my Q45, mainly things like coolant temp, oil pressure, and basically anything else that i would want to measure..

Since theres really no place in the interior of the Q45 that wouldnt look tacky for an aftermarket gauge, i had a thought of replacing the factory temp gauge on the cluster with a small digital display that I could display various engine vitals..

Ideally the display would be nestled in the cluster replacing the factory temp gauge, and there would be an external "mode" button that would allow me to cycle through the different displays.. I figure for my purposes, having 3-4 gauges in the car doesnt really do me much good because I can only look at one at a time, and I dont really do anything intense enough that I would need to watch that much action at once.

This was the closest thing I could find, and might be a winner...

Any ideas?

There was one that was featured in Modified a while back. I can't seem to find it though.

No can do... I am not OBDII, thank god!

Ozzie, I like that DIY gauge... thanks for the link! Ive programmed stuff like that, so if it comes down to that it should be OK... :) I figured i could probably program something to work, but if I didnt have to, that would be nice.. :) The nice part with a unit I built myself, I could add to it whenever I wanted...

Stack meter. It would double the value of most members' tore-up 240SXs

You know I'm a BMW guy so I had to post a couple of pics of how Alpina used to do it and how BMW does it today, just to give some ideas for location:

BMW Performance sport steering wheel I.
For genuine, hands-on motorsport feeling.
The BMW Performance sport steering wheel I with high-grip alcantara always keeps you on the right track. Absolute highlights include one OLED and two LED displays, with keys on the thumbrests activating three modes: EfficientDynamics for a fuel-saving drive, Sport with a stopwatch, consumption and g-meter and Race with a stopwatch for lap times and acceleration measurements (e.g. a 0–100 km/h sprint). Keep your eye on the road for an out-of-the-ordinary driving experience.

Hmm, that gauge that fits the contour around the gauge cluster is cool.. You would probably want ot put that along the top of the instrument cluster on the Q... :)

BMW ftw. They have some super cool gadgets and many were ahead of their time when they first came out.

That Alpina vent setup is pretty cool and looks factory.
