I would doubt that that's where the thief found out about my car. We have a lot of pro car thieves in this city, and several pro stereo thieves. It's probably one of the latter.
If not, it was probably a stereo installed, because of how neatly everything was done.
I dunno, all I can say it is't not some punk smash-and-grab teenager, that's about all I know for sure.
I do have insurance, but the deductible is $500... I'll be getting my window fixed and re-tinted for free and getting SOME money back for the stereo, but not nearly enough to replace it outright. Also, I had left my MP3 player in it, which is not covered by the auto policy, and the homeowner's deductible is way more than the MP3 player is worth, so I just got completely shafted on that one.
Besides which, I give up. This is the 3rd stereo I've had stolen since I moved to this city. I'm just going to put my stock unit back in and get a bluetooth headset for when I'm driving.
I do park outside all the time because 1) my garage doors don't work right and 2) my garage is full of shyte. My new house has a 1-car garage, but the garage opener needs work and/or replacement.
Noah - if I catch them, I'll be sure to call you so that you can... assist... in their interrogation.
Oh, and Nissan keyless entries do NOT go off if a door is opened in an unauthorized manner. And my dogs are fired for barking at everything (neighbors, cats, squirrels) EXCEPT the thieves.
