Hi All,

I've had the SES on for a couple months and I've been trying to track down the culprit, but now today things went to crap. The car is a 2000 Maxima SE (stick shift) with 135,000 miles. I bought it at 98,000 and have not replaced anything in the ignition/emissions system other than spark plugs.

I was accelerating and the engine starting hesitating and running rough. Then my SES started flashing. I read the codes, and there are 7 codes stored:

MIL DTC P0139 HO2S-12 (Bank 1 Sensor 2) Slow Response

Stored Codes P1320 Ignition Control Signal Circuit Malfunction P0138 HO2S-12 (Bank 1 Sensor 2) Circuit High Input (Rich Shift) P0140 HO2S-12 (Bank 1 Sensor 2) Insufficient Activity Detected P0430 Catalyst Efficiency Below Normal (Bank 2)

Pending Codes P1320 Ignition Control Signal Circuit Malfunction P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected Any suggestions? Sounds bad. Could bad coils (or coil) be causing all of this? I've read about the pre-cat issue, but I don't want to just shotgun and start replacing expensive components hoping that will fix it.

Any ideas will be appreciated - Thanks!

Matt

One of two things:

Either you've lost one oxygen sensor and one coil, or some part of the wiring harness is shorted out or has a bad connection.

Bank1 Sensor2 is obviously not a happy camper and I would look real close at coil#1.

The 1320 sounds like a wiring problem.

Note the reprogramming issue for the ECU:http://www.nissanhelp.com/Owne...1.htm

FYI - I replaced the #1 ignition coil, and that cleared every code with the exception of P0430 - Bank 2 pre-cat. I think the pre-cat is shot. I'm considering getting a performance Y-pipe.
