I have a 2007 M35 and the temperature button on the multifunction switch is no longer working. I can raise the temp but not lower it. Does anyone know if it is possible to just replace the button or does the whole unit need to be replaced? If so do you know where I can get a replacement button? If not do you know where I can get a used replacement multifunction switch? Thank you in advance for you assistance.

Welcome to the forum.

I don't know if it's possible to change the just the button as I've never seen them sold separately, etc. You may just need to buy a used panel on eBay.

If you are talking about the climate control/navigation control panel there are a bunch of used ones on ebay
from around $30 and up...

airmanhoward thank you for your reply and offer. It says you don't have PM's enabled when I try to send you a message.

The button in question is the driver's side temp button, the one that allows you to raise and lower the desired temperature. Mine will only allow me to raise the temperature, I cannot lower it any longer. The problem was intermittent for a few weeks now it is permanent. It is currently stuck at 88 degrees and I cannot lower it. All the other buttons work just fine.

Thank you 04pathse. I was looking at those and many of them are pretty beat up. If need be I can buy the cheapest one and switch out the button in question, putting it into my control unit. I just don't know if changing out the buttons is possible or if they integrated into the control until and cannot be safely removed.

You can find them on Ebay, but most are, as you say, severely used. Just keep trying. They used to call that section of buttons the "multi switch". Now, I see them listed in the Infiniti Parts catalog as "Dash Control Unit" for the 2009 models. In case you wondered, they get $1046 from the dealer, but Infiniti Parts Online sell them for $787. Infiniti does not sell individual plastic buttons, just the whole piece. If it's that that individual plastic piece that is broken, then changing it out should be very easy. If the plastic button is not damaged (cracked or broken) you might need the entire multi switch. Probably not a bad idea to have a spare in case you need other buttons later on.
*** The buttons are easily removed. I removed mine when I covered the unit in 3M wrap. They 'pop out' from underneath after you remove the tiny screws that hold the black section to the rest of the unit. To remove the unit, you will need to take off the wood trim on either side, then remove the center switch panel.

Thank you for the info. That means if I need to I can buy any one of the units regardless of scratches and just use the button and put into mine which is cosmetically flawless.

Indeed. The little buttons can be replaced with buttons from any other car long as it is in the same year range. If the dash part looks exactly like yours, grab it.
Be VERY careful when popping the buttons out. Some will pop out by simply pushing them from behind with the eraser end of a pencil, but others are a bit tougher to pop.
If you use a screwdriver or anything sharp or pointy, you risk punching a hole through the button and you're screwed.
