Hey guys,

Just wondering if its possible to have a magnaflow muffler with a twin tip put on the tiida without it having to be hidden right under the car? or pushed too far back that it will put exhaust fumes on the back bumper?

This is the muffler:

Would it fit in other words properly?

Thanks guys

I don't have an answer...but I thought I'd chime in that I too am disappointed with the bumper-exhaust integration, or should I say the lack thereof. A tasteful display of tailpipe never hurt anyone. I am interested in how folks with aftermarket exhausts worked around this flaw.

I in fact have a magnaflow, but not the tip i have the straight through 3 inch race pipe in place of resonator and where my megan can sits we trimmed out the bumper so it would sit flush and even and you cant even tell from standing and looking at it .......so im sure it would fit nicely

Nothing wrong with updating to chrome accents. As long as you don't throw a 4" chrome tip onto a 2" outlet.....

This is the muffler:
You will have to cut it wider to fit. Sawsall or hand saw would work if you are willing to go that far.

I have a Greddy TiC on mine and I had the bottom plastic notched out so that the muffler would sit a little higher and I wouldn't have to worry about scraping.

Depends on what the vehicle code is like in your state. In California it would only void the exhaust not the entire warranty.

In the US you are correct. In Cali the exhaust has to be CAFE certified, otherwise everything else falls under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

"The federal minimum standards for full warranties are waived if the warrantor can show that the problem associated with a warranted consumer product was caused by damage while in the possession of the consumer, or by unreasonable use, including a failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance."

So, in effect, they don't cover any warranty on the part that is replaced by you (of course) but they cannot simply void the whole warranty because you did put an aftermarket part on.

That muffler looks like it is about 1/2 inch off the ground. No scrapes on speed bumps or nothing? Maybe drag a roadkill or 2?

wait you have a 3 inch pipe? your just bottlenecking your exhaust flow. should have just gone 2" stock diameter.

the exhaust itself is 2.5 inch but got a 3 inch race magnaflow pipe to muffle it but also the header keeps the flow deep and smooth and no scrapes or drags unless going up a pretty steep incline......

I actually have the magnaflow 14861 just installed and I love it, they are cheaper on ebay but I wanted a warranty (the salt on the roads here in winter kills an exhaust) so I got it here magnaflow 14861, or you can try one of the vendors here, they are always running sales/specials. either way its a great system and very easy to install.

the OEM exhaust is barley 2" itself. the cat part of the exhaust is about 2.5" but not from the cat back
