Muffler Broke/Rust

Hey Everyone!!

My wife's Versa started to be incredibly loud when running so I crawled under the car to find the Muffler had broke in two and it appears to me that Rust has eaten through the metal and caused it to happen.
Does that fall under the Rust warranty?
If not I wonder what that would entail for a repair.

I've never heard of a vehicle carrying a rust warranty. I would check the warranty paperwork to be certain and if it doesn't say it's not covered, I would call the warranty company and ask for clarification.

Nissan Corrosion Warranty

The Nissan corrosion warranty includes repairs to any perforation, or rust through, to any sheet metal on a new Nissan vehicle. This Nissan warranty covers repairs of any corrosion due to manufacturer defects or workmanship. It only applies to sheet metal that is provided by Nissan. The Nissan corrosion warranty begins at the delivery date (in-service date) which is the date it is delivered to the first Nissan owner or the date when it is first put into use.
What is Covered Under the Nissan Corrosion Warranty?

Under the Nissan corrosion warranty, any sheet metal that is provided by Nissan that has any signs of corrosion due to normal use. There are no additional rust proofing applications required in order for the warranty to be valid. However, there are corrosion protection guidelines. These guidelines can be found in the Corrosion Protection Guidelines section of the Nissan Factory Warranty found in your warranty booklet provided at the time of sale. The Nissan corrosion warranty covers what is listed above. How Long is the Nissan Corrosion Warranty?

The Nissan corrosion warranty applies for 60 months regardless of mileage. It begins with the new vehicle limited warranty and starts the day of new ownership or use. The warranty is transferable.
