hi all,

So some of you asked for pics of my ride, some didn't, but I thought I'd pass em along anyway. Well, its just one pic, and I did alot to my interior, as soon as I get those pics up, I'll pass em along.

http://members.rogers.com/kher...s.htm

top row, second pic from the left. Mine is the gunmetal/grey car, the first one in the row. Check out the red 240 S14 at the very bottom with the S13 SR blacktop motor, very nice, clean car, and very quick. He has it running stock right now, and man that thing can haul, can only imagine what he has in store for it (thanks again for the boot Dan).

Gear Head rambling....

Mods/upgrades -

Exterior-custom gunmetal paint -swapped 4 lug hubs to 5 lugs (w/5 lug OEM rims)-shaved rear antena and emblems

Interior -MOMO race steering wheel, w/HKB hub adapter-MOMO race shifter w/MOMO boot and ring-Xenon cluster bulbs with white faced cluster-swapped cloth seats for leather w/door panels-OBX pedals-painted trims gunmetal (did it myself, I'm a mechanic now!!!)

Sound-Clarion CD player-1 b-52 10" subwoofer in a banpassed box-1 Rockford Fosgate 150watt RMS amp(currently working on getting my radio to work) :P

Suspension-Sprint lowering springs (about 1.25"-1.5" drop, very streetable)-Tokico shock on front and rear -Front strut tower brace-OEM front and rear sway bars (rear is getting installed this week)-HKS rear pillow mounts-Front camber correction bolts

Performance (wish this list was longer, still debating engine swap)-Custom cone style intake-Bruellen DTM style muffler-300ZX TT fuel filter (whoopdeedooooo!)-Bosch +++4 platnum plugs (whoop whoopdedoooooo!!)

:D

coming soon......

-17" or 18" 5,6, or 7 spoke gunmetal rims-rear strut tower brace-electric fan-power sunroof-possible big brake swap -TURBO!!!

Be kind to my girl please, alot of time, energy, blood sweat and tears were put into this car. For those who know my story, I need not elaborate. Got the car in April, not bad, eh? Open to all suggestions, body kits and spoilers are NOT on my wish list. And please provide links/pics if possible w/any suggestions.

Oh, and my car was gold before, and the only options on it were power locks/windows. Lots more toys to come......

thanks to all who took the time out to peep my ride

take care

PauL

I want to get my car painted gun metal too, but when i think of that color i think of something lighter, your car looks almost black in the pic! very nice, and i don't recommend a body kit, haha. save your money up for performance i say :D

Ninja, the very top left corner, count one over to the right, there is a row of s14's (5 I believe), mine is the first one, grey s14, no spoiler, kit, rims, nothing. My ride isn't slammed, so it looks a bit lower, with those springs.

Sky, thanks alot for the compliment! Nothing fancy shmancy, just plain and simple, my style, the sleeper!!! LOL, all my money is going into performance mods, except for rims MAYBE, my buddy just opened a rim shop, so once I find him, then I'll know what to do.

Was thinking of nitrous, but I want a autocross car, not a dragster. Tucking my pennies away until I can afford a turbo. Just got an email this morning for a RB20 motor, $2800 Canadian obo. Wish it was a rb25, I would have taken out a loan by now (not a good idea BTW). Going to autocross for the first time next weekend. I remember waaay back in spring, on the old board, you said you went autocrossing for the first time and had a blast. Said you would continue, but haven't seen you post anything since. Are you still into the scene?Oh, you're cute BTW!! LOL, sorry, had to throw that in there!!

:P

:D

oh, it was cloudy that day, but yes, my paint is a little darker than a true gunmetal paint color. I wanted my car to look grey during the day, and black at night. Depending on the lighting, the paint does change hue slightly, its kinda cool, really subtle. I've heard the car looks blue at times (under a pure white light) but more often than not everyone says it looks purple. Not a ugly barney the dinosaur purple, but a dark, DARK purple. I hate purple, especially on cars, but its so subtle it doesn't bother me. Really nice color, I have some good pics, they scanned in really crappy though so i won't bother posting until I get a digi cam.

its a metalic grey paint with a super blue mica pearl coat, I believe 3 for the grey, 2 for the pearl, I like, and am very happy with the job my guy did. Door jams, hood and trunk lids, beneath ALL the exterior trims, lights and rubber lining, very thorough and a drastic change from the stock champagne color!

thanks again for your kind words

ninja, let me know if you can't find it.

Thanks Tony, if it were sunny that day, the color would look alot better.

You guys check out the SR's at the bottom of the page? Very nice rides, love the sound of a BOV!!!

just saw the pic of your car now, very sweet! I always LOVED the Maxima, it brought me into the Nissan world 10 years ago (my das '92). When I go shopping for a sedan one day, it will be a Maxima, unless I can afford a S4!!!

Our colors are very similiar. Actually, I think the metalic grey base is almost identical, never noticed a pearl paint mixed into your color, but I've only seen those Maxima's moving, so I didn't get a chance to look up close.

other people in Canada aside from myself? Well, none worth mentioning! :D j/k, you ready to go driftin' mayhem? Thanks for the compliment. There are some very resourceful guys on our bulletin board (we really need a web site, partially my fault for not starting the design yet, but know I have pics to work with) join our club if you want to learn more.

There is a guy who just fabricated a supercharger for his s13. Didn't see it yet, but there are pics on our board. 2 guys in the club with SR's (I know of 4 guys with SR's, 2 aren't in the club), another buddy has a s14 blacktop in his ride, a '97, should be ready by months end. 2 guys with KA t, and a bunch of guys swapping or fabing their own kits. club is in yahoo groups, under SON240SX, but its not a fancy shmancy site like this one, so please don't expect anything special, gotta wait for my lazy *** to start designing!

HEEEEEEEYYY!!!! there's my car *jumps and points* My baby is the only black S13 coupe in the pictures. Pimpin's ride is real pretty. He's got style with his ride.

P.S. Paul does Dan live up north in like Newmarket? Because we were chasing him all the way up the 400 to Major Mac.

P.P.S. Who else from SON 240sx posts on NICO???? :sleep

LOL, you guys were chasing him? You managed to keep up with him? I'm impressed, his car is freaking fast, and its just a stock s13 blacktop, wait till he starts working on it, damn!!!!!!

Yeah, he lives in Newmarket, a really cool guy.

thanks for the compliment man, I didn't see one crappy 240 at our gathering, a pretty good turn out as well, we should do it more often. Your ride is pimpin' too, despite the fact that its an s13!! j/k, but Chris also had a black s13, and I think he's in the pics too. J & J's s13 SR is tight too man, didn't get a chance to go for a boot in that one though.

I know David W. occasionally posts, as well as (Bob B) Freak, not sure who else though.

Catch the burnouts after the pic shoot? I hope Kam gets the mpeg up soon, dan and James were killing their SR's (what else are they good for?)

Thanks for the compliments! I had no intention of even getting that color, but that particular one was one of only 2 2k2 SE's left on the lot where I bought it back in June. I was really wanting silver, but the only one they had was a 2k3 and I could not get the deal I was getting on the 2k2 since they were really wanting to move it. Now I'm glad I ended up with the color I did (gray lustre) and can't imagine me with any other color Max!

Yeah the traffic slowed him up:D Give me 6 months and I'll be kickin his a$$ :rolleyes Seriously though I'm looking to swap next spring and I'm planning the Silvia body work for X-Mas

It looked a little amateur....If that 's the look they're shooting for then that's alright...the rice sleeper is a good way to win races and fool guys. I dunno :sleep

Bomex, yup, David is the older gentleman with the red s14, a really cool guy! You going for the s15 front end (please say yes)?

J & J'S car was a little banged up from the outside, but its nothing a decent paint job couldn't fix. I hate pretty much all spoilers, btu its hard for me to hate anything on that car! The valve cover came painted when they purchased the car, so I'm assuming the interior was the same way. Who ever planned out the color scheme of that ride obviously doesn't have much experience with designing, but to each their own, and their car will still kick the snot outta mine, so I ain't hating (not to say that you are). Did you see the clearance on their exhaust? Car wasn't even slammed when they brought it!

Ninja I'll try and help you out a bit

OXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Lets just say, for arguements sake, that the above thumbnail is a layout of that link I posted. Every character represents a picture, X being the picture of my ride, and O's being all other pics. Please tell me you found it now man!

:) no worries, school is tough, I hear ya!

I sense a little bit of hating from freak. I never once said my car is fast, but I know it will smoke the panties outta yours!

actually pimpin, i'm still involved in autoX, posted a pic from the august event (under "it's my b-day!" thread) no real good pictures, and i can't find my camera...argh

currently i can't go to any more autoX's this fall until i figure what's going on with my car

it's a blast though and you would have fun, i'm having the same dilemma over whether i should get the sr or not ( i think i will when the KA shows signs of dying--not for long i hope! :xfingers

cool , I'm sure I'll have fun. Whatsamatter with your ride? Come join the toronto club, those guys can usually diagnose any problem over the keyboard, and the fact that you are female will work in your favor! ;) I must have missed your post, I'll go hunt for it. How many times have you gone? any good tips/ techniques for a first timer? Pass the knowledge baby, pass it on!!! LOL, any tips from you will be much appreciated. Why not go CA instead of SR? If I had a s13, I would. Oh, and see your front orange lights? A guy has locally manufactured clear gloss ones, if you're interested, I think he's selling them for $60 CAN for the pair, look really nice, and considering your ride is white, it will probably look even better. He post in the toronto club, but I'll pass you the contact if interested.

yeah, its cheaper to buy, has potential to reach above 500HP with less $$$ than an SR, its lighter and just as bullet proof. With the money saved from buying CA instead of SR, it can be put towards upgrading mods. really depends on what you are building your ride for. CA for dragging, IMO, SR for autocrossing, although it is capable of being a good drag motor. Me, I want RB25DET, for autoX!!!!

muwahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

:D

hopefully one day a big sack of loot will fall in my lap, then my car will be complete.

i've been to 3 so far, and the coordinator says i'm improving each time he see me:ofacehmmm, as far as autoX tips go, i'd ask questions to people who look like they know what they're doing, walk the course about 3 or 4 times, ask questions, keep an eye on your tire pressure (after your first run, so you know whether to go higher or lower), i'd buy a air compressor, the kind that hooks up to your cig. lighter, or bum one off of someone who looks friendly, ask questions, um, and check out this site: http://www.autoX4u.com, it's not your area but they have a great novice section so you can get some info.

other than that, have fun!

ps the prob i'm having with my car is in the technical section, under "this is what i did today" subject, i don't feel like reiterating now for some reason.....feeling lazy :D

thanks sky, you're a sweetie!!

;)

I'll go check the link you sent, as well as your post in the tech area, if I have any input I'll give my 2 pesos. Tires pressure, I'm on stock 16" and I usually run 44psi on the streets. I figure half tires pressure for drifting, but not to sure about the track, do you run higher or lower than recomended (just curious). I'm more of a contact driver, although I love throwing the back end out for kicks!!! Its just for fun, I'm curious to see how my car handles after dumping a couple grand into the suspension, hopefully I will be satisfied, so far I am. Kinda worried about other drivers on the course at the same time, are there some kind of rule or etiquitte on the course? Don't want to take a turn hard, just to find out the guy in front is practicing his drifting and drifts right into me, y'know? Also, someone unfortunately passed away at this track about 3 weeks back, and ironically enough, he has a 240sx. An s13 with a small block V8, nothing like my car, but all the same, this isn't the first time its happened on this course (although there was a long period between accidents causing death).

thanks for the tips, if anything else comes to mind, I'd love to hear about it.

oh, i put a comma in there? my bad!:oface

there's rules of etiquette of course

if you peel out at launch, or do donuts or something crazy (not when it's not your fault, i mean purposely show off) then other people will get mad

mosty because certain sites that autoXes are held at are in residential areas and you have they have to abide by legal sound levels in order to not lose the site, i think it may be different for those autoXes that take place at airport lots, but still.

like they say: "smooth=fast" people will be more impressed if you look like you know how to drive than being a show off or talking smack

but your'e not like that i assume

LOL, you're mad cool. Can't really talk any smack yet, don't have the HP to back up my mouth, unless, of course, it is some guy in a 4 door sedan with over 250HP telling me he'll kick my *** in a drag. Then I reply, "OK, so maybe you will win in a straight line. How about a real man's course (or woman in your case) and come meet me at an autoX?" I usually don't get a reply after that **hitman** cough, oops, burp, uh, excuse me!!!

j/k, hitman is cool, no, I ain't running my mouth, haven't paid my dues on the track yet! I have nothing to prove, and until I get a raise of 100HP in my ride, and a few weeks of autoxin' under my belt, then maybe I'll go over to FA and start ish talking. Until then, I will remain humble in my stock 240 (almost stock).

The first couple laps I plan to take it easy, just feel out the course and how my car responds. When, and if, I am comfortable, I may stomp on the throttle a little harder. My clutch is on its last limbs, its slipping so bad, that I can't even peel off the line anymore! :( doughnuts are outta the question, and look foolish if you ask me, not to mention kills your tires and some other components I'm sure. Not really there to show off, more of a learning experience for me to understand my car and push it to the limits in a controlled enviornment. I will want to do some drifting towards the end of the laps, do the people there get mad when guys start puposely drifting? No doughnuts or anything, just wanna slide for a while (its such a rush, as I'm sure you know). Anything fail or break on you in your 240 with your experience to date?

thanks alot sky, I owe you one, and I don't see your thread? Is it in the 240 tech area, or the Nico tech area? I'll look again, just a little busy at work today.

take care

PauL

p.s. - not sure, but did I ever tell you you are hella cute? :D i learned something from those socal guys!!!!

;)

take care, drive safely
