How many quarts go into a 240sx manual transmission? i need to know how many to buy.

First of all, make sure that you are getting ASE approved API-GL4 gear oil and not The GL5 that most auto parts stores sell as their gear oil. I made that mistake and dont want anyone else to half to go through that. Check the the FAQ on the KA24DE on the home page of the board to be sure but i believe it is something like 2 5/8 quarts. Its a rough conversion from the given pints. Hope it helps. :chef

always get 4. always, always always. mine took 3, but I;ve heard of otheres taking a little more...its better to get more than you need and have an extra bottle just in case than have to go get more in the middle of doing the work.-cjet

3.25 according to Nissan.Ive always found that about 1/2 a quart doesn't drain out in an auto, and about 1/4 a quart doesn't drain in a manual (it's in the transmission pumps)
