MT fluid question
MT fluid question
So, I had to do some work on my 6 speed that resulted in the need to replace my MT fluid. Here's my question: I'm at about 2800 kms, can I replace it with synthetic fluid, or should I not (does it need more break-in)? Also, if anyone else has done this already and has any tips or descriptions of the process I would welcome those. Thanks!

I just wasn't sure if I needed more of a break in period before making the switch to synthetic. Is this an issue?

No. You don't need a break in period for synth oil, either with engine motor oil or trans oil.

can u write a "how to" change the mt fluid. i would also like to change mine. and what type of fluid are u going to use? pictures would help too haha

I've been wanting to change mine too. I'm gonna do it sometime this month and will snap some pics along the way. First question is, how many quarts does the transmission take? It's not listed in the owners manual for some reason????

My dealer want over $120 to drain and fill the MT fluid. Out of their mind!I'll be looking forward for you pics. >31K miles.

I got the stuff to do it today, plan on tackling it tomorrow. I have 21K on my V, and can tell the gearbox is getting "notchy", especially now that it's getting colder.
