I m going to invest in these things, so that i can keep my stock engine as long as i can.

Where to do tap the oil from for the oil cooler and where does it go back to?

I need some opinion on this thing, how good are they? and i know WDRACING keeps on promoting them, pls tell me how it work out for u on ur 240.

Besides, since my front mount is completely blocking the air to the radiator, i am thinking of putting an electric fan in between the front mount and radiator..(which means running stock fan and this electric fan, funny idea) do you think that works?

Thankx

You don't need to "tap" anything for the oil cooler. You need a sandwich adaptor that goes in between the engine block and the oil filter--there will be two ports on this sandwich adaptor, one is the inlet, one is the outlet. You can use whatever you want to plumb from the adaptor to the cooler; if you're not going the expensive stainless steel route, make sure you get HIGH PRESSURE HIGH TEMP oil hose that's RATED for it--otherwise you WILL be sorry (almost learned this the VERY hard way). I just have standard 1/2" barb fittings to be used with the oil lines; if I had to do it again I'd save up and get the expensive-and bullet proof-aeroquip fittings.

I suggest you get a thermostat for the oil-cooler as well, because cold-oil is not a good thing to have running through the block--mine comes on between 180 and 190 I believe; below that temp the oil bypasses the cooler. Mine's mounted in front of the radiator, a FMOC (heh), and it does a damn good job of keeping temps down.

The MSD Knock Meter simply detects detonation at a very mild level before it becomes catastrophic. You get a LED signal as well as an audible signal. The sensitivity is adjustable.

MarkEmark : What is your preference, Radiator or Oil Cooler? I can only choose one at the moment. Good idea of the FMOC!

WDRacing : Does the knock meter on ur car comes on all the time. What frequency of knock to expect from a KA-T, say at 8psi-10psi? I am just curious.

Should i go with Electric fan over clutch fan? radiator 1st? oilcooler? or fan 1st?

Here's what I did with my knock meter. I installed it while the car was running stock boost, Skyline GTS-t, and adjusted the sensitivity to where it wasn't showing any knock. The I added boost, this way I was sure that any knock that occurred do to the added boost would be immediatly detected.

So for you, just install it while your still NA. Adjust it till it is just barely picking up a slight knock, then add boost.

I tuned for no knock at all, if I got knock I added fuel. In the case of my Kits, I'll be retarding timing and adding fuel.
