the good:-better fuel mileage-a little horsepower(2hp....heh.)-smoother running engine-support for ignition duties for high end mods(turbo, Nitrous, etc)the bad:-hard install(wiring is a *****)-cost(theres better ways to invest the 500 dollars into your car)-space(got the box, coil to put in..wherE?)

there ya go.-chet

I might add much better throttle response. And a soft-tough rev limiter in the 6-AL model. An output for a shift light or other RPM device.

Gotta disagree with Exar-Kun on the install. You should have it installed in an hour. ANd I think Jeg's has them for about $280. But, I would have to agree, money can be better spent elsewhere, just depends where your priorities are.

Actually the wiring in a 95 is a bit more complex than the older model 240's. There is a bunch of rewiring that needs to take place but I am sure someone has installed it and could give you directions. Did you install it on a 240 with an internal coil 4cefed? If so you should post the directions, many people have asked about it before.

Ha ha, well, the last one I installed was on a dodge. But the MSD is still the same. You need like a 10ga. battery lead, a ground, leads to the coil, and the trigger. I used the factorly coil leads in the dodge as the trigger. They worked by having constant 12v to one side of the coil, and the computer would ground the other side to fire the coil. The instructions with the MSD are pretty comprehensive. But, if you want to make it a nice install and keep it clean, I'm sure it could be time consuming.

I got a wiring diagram for msd for the install...ummmmm-it looks like a *****. Plus, when i talked to balanced performance, they said that the only one they have done is on chris mays car, they said his car has gone through 3 distributors, and that once its done, its irreversable. Has anyone had any negative side effects of wiring one up internally?(not haveing an external coil on the 95-up s14's)
