Msd Ignition 6A or 6AL? Does it Matter?

I have a dilema, I just bought me the magnecor wires. I want to put a ignition system in my car like I had in my Chevy S10. Now the problem is my truck had the 6A ignition box. All I hear on this site is about the 6AL. Now does it matter at all? I already have the tach adapter and the blaster coil so basically i need some help with this before i go ahead.

the difference is that the 6AL has a built in rev limiter as well as quick accessories plugs.The 6A does not have a built in rev limiter.

if all you want it the stronger/hotter spark, then no it doesn't matter.

I just did some quick reading on the accessories.

One is the RPM Activated Switch. I think that is pretty cool. You can have it set with a RPM Module and have it switch something on when you hit the set RPM. I think I will hook it to a beeper of some sort.

Here is the direct description:

module..how about activating nitrous when you hit a certain rpm..that'd save some juice when you're flooring it around but not redlining it..i dunno..lol..just a thought...sounds dumber now that i reread it-

Thing is it is just a switch. You could have a siren on the top of your car start spinning. Then your neighbors will be like "Billy is redlining again, watch out!"

Nah, wire it to your horn, that way if your redlined engine doesn't get the cops attention, then the horn will. :pface
