how did you hook it up?? i think you have to use a tach adapter with the MSD systems to make it work properly

Well, the tach adapter is only needed for SOHC KA24E motors (89-90) because they use a 6v tach signal. The DOHC doesnt need to adapter because it uses a 12v tach signal. Try taking the tach adapter out. Could be your problem.

I havent installed a MSD in like 8 years, so i cant tell you whats wrong if you dont tell me how youve got it hooked up.

Hum about taking the tach out It wont start...The wiring is good perfect. The base timing is good. out of the MSD...orange to coil positiveblack to coil negativered to ignition key which is the green/black white to negative out of the car which is the black/redand of course neg and positive to the batteryThis is with the tach adapter 8910 which positive goes connected to the msd Red to the green/black all together....and negative out of the tach goes to the white of the msd conected to the neg black/red....Anyway theres more info about this at msdignition.com is the ignition PSD 6520 go to products / ignition and theres the diagram for it.

Thanks a bunch.

With the tach adapter 8910EIS you dont use the white cable
