$300 down the drain. The MSD DashHawk DOES NOT work with a 2007 Nissan Versa. The gauge indicates "CAN not found". This automotive Computer Area Network is SUPPOSED to be MANDANTORY on all 2008 and later models. MOST newer vehicles have it already included with a set of universal parameters. There are additional "vehicle specific" parameters available but nothing was available for the Versa.

MSD's website suggests that if Pins 6 & 14 of the OBD-II connector are populated, that the vehicle PROBABLY has "CAN" installed. Well, my Versa's pins ARE poplulated but SHE NO WORKIE!

Although the Versa was a "New to North America" vehicle last year, it has been in production for other global markets for longer so perhaps that it why it wasn't installed yet.

Will be interesting to see if the DashHawk works in a 2008 Versa. It didn't work in my wife's 2004 Chrysler Sebring either. That chassis was introduced in 2001. However, I loaned it to a former colleague who owns a 2004 Dodge Durango (a new vehicle design for 2004) and the DashHawk worked fine for him. He also owns a 2007 Chevy Cobalt and the DashHawk worked there as well.

I told him to keep it for now and I'll get it back when my Versa lease expires in 2009.
