Ok, its the last two weeks for me bein N/A and I'm runnin low on the funds. I have an MSD BTM that I know I could sell for a quick $150 or so. That would give me enough money to buy my materials for my intercooler piping and my downpipe. So, my question is, do I absolutely totally need it. Heres my setup/plans.

Garrett T3 turbo (.42 a/r, internally gated)SSAC top mountSR 370'sSAFC-2FMIC (12x2x28ish)Blitz BOVWalbrostainless braided linesmsd btm

I only plan to run 8 psi on this turbo. I plan to keep it at that point until the turbo wears out or i save up enough money for a new turbo, injectors, maf, etc. at that point, i can purchase another MSD BTM because I should actually have a job by then.

So, whats yalls verdict? I know I gotta modify my distributor to be able to use it and thats another BIG part thats tellin me to just go ahead and sell it. Thanks yall.

i wouldn't do it. The btm retard your timing from the amount of boost it sees. If your not boosting the ignition system will be screwed up.

The Msd btm retards upon boost pressure; therefore, if it's not seeing boost it won't retard timing. It's a must when tuning without a tuned ecu or standalone.

At 8psi there is no need for it. You mine as well retard your base timign 1 degreee or 2 if you are worried.I'm goign to have one but that's because I'm goign to be at 10psiand afte runnign well increase to 14. At that level timign will be too advanced. And retarding base will be too severe at low end.At 8psi you don't need it.

Awesome. In that case, it's for sale. $150 shipped anywhere. I live in Southeast Louisiana (40 miles east of Baton Rogue) so if you live close, I'll drop $10 off it and meet you somewhere. Peace.
